Silk was born in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk is the child of Peter Silk, who is an academic and Anna Silk, a director, actress and producer. She is also a playwright. Anna is able to recall the first moments she experienced as a child, including watching her mom work at play rehearsals. Silk featured in a number of commercials as a child. She earned her Bachelor of Arts was conferred to her by St. Thomas University, 1997. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two productions in the beginning: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk relocated from Toronto in November 1999 to Los Angeles during the next decade. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007 when they met at an actor's' Workshop at Los Angeles. In 2009 they were wed in a civil ceremony in December of 2009. Following her conversion to Judaism and they renewed their wedding vows during an Jewish wedding ceremony on April 10, 2011.
